2016 - Street Paste-ups installed by JJ in various undisclosed locations across Croydon, Brighton and London.
This was a bit of a fun social experiment as the pasteups had no name attached to them. They were talked about by a few 'street art collectors' who had otherwise dismissed my work due to my digital mediums used and had previously attacked me for my use of graffiti and street art featured in my work without me being an actual 'Street Artist' even though I had done graffiti and street art in my past and I am heavily influenced by it.
I used these street pasteups as an example in an argument online in which they agreed it was better than my work and more original and when asked if they would buy a print of this particular anonymous artists work if it was in a gallery they agreed they probably would when they found out who it was. I then confessed the work was in fact mine, proving a huge point and also that it was originally created digitally.
My real argument was that it was more about money for these collectors than art itself and they should get out and try it themselves before passing judgement on their keyboards on what is art and what isn't and what makes someone an artist or not, or how commercially successful an artist should be or where their art should be shown or sold or even how it is done. The discussion abruptly ended.
A limited edition print and screenprint gallery release in Brighton followed a few days later which sold out along with a collaboration with graffiti and stencil artist ZombieDan.
